I am building a high speed gate driver 10MHz+ and the gate return path is very important. I have the top side of the gate driver figured out, but the low side I have a few more questions as it's return path is ground. Which Vss pin (7,3, or thermal pad) would be the closest to the gate driver inverter to reduce the inductance of the trace. I would also love some layout advice regarding the connection order of the Vss pins. Currently I have the return trace going to pin 7 then a trace to the thermal pad vss and then connecting it to pin 3. What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Patrick
