TPS92622-Q1: TPS92623-Q1 and TPS92622-Q1 discussion

Part Number: TPS92622-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92620-Q1, , TPS92623-Q1, TPS92633-Q1, TPS92624-Q1

Hi Team

Would like to ask about the specification of High Side Driver.
Currently the customer is using the following two ICs, TPS2H160BQPWPRQ1 and TPS92630QPWPRQ1.
Recently, the IC TPS92622 was discovered, which is currently in the trial production stage.

And compared to the two ICs used in the past, each channel has a constant current limiting resistor to be plugged in, which means that the current of each channel can be different, which is suitable for customers to use in other HMI applications, and use it to connect the buzzer The flexibility of the device and BSW warning light is relatively large, which will be more convenient.

Then the VIH voltage of the EN and PWM pins is only about 1.2V, and the old IC is about 2.8V.
It also means that this IC can be used in the 1.8V IO interface, without the need for an external Level Shift.

After checking this series, there are the following:

Two channels:
TPS92620-Q1: 250mA per channel,
TPS92622-Q1: 150mA per channel (trial production stage)

Three channels:
TPS92623-Q1: 150mA per channel
TPS92633-Q1: 150mA per channel, reference current for additional temperature sensing

Four channels:
TPS92624-Q1: 150mA per channel

The design of the customer's new project should come to test and see. Before that, can you confirm it for me.

If the current of each channel of TPS92623-Q1 is used at different constant current levels, what should be paid attention to?
For example: Ch1: 10mA (~1KΩ buzzer), Ch2: 28mA (2 yellow LEDs in series), Ch3: 38mA (two yellow LEDs in series).

Will it affect the diagnostic interpretation of LED Short and Open?

  • Hi Kygo,

"Will it affect the diagnostic interpretation of LED Short and Open?"

From my side, it won't affect the diagnostic of device as long as the fault detection mechanism is not met. The details about the fault detection mechanism can be referred in the datasheet of 7.3.9 Fault table.

"If the current of each channel of TPS92623-Q1 is used at different constant current levels, what should be paid attention to?

Please pay attention to the Vout and Vin/Vsupply of each channel for avoiding false fault report out.

In additional, we have some devices that have single channel, if you want to learn more, please email me.

    BR,

    Hailee.
