LM5020: Is there recommended replacement for the LM5020 for PoE DC/DC converter.

I am looking for a "modern" (and available to buy) replacement for the LM5020 as used in the dual ethernet evaluation board PMP20899. We need isolated 5V @ 2-3A, as this is only a 802.3af design.

    Hi Ian,

    i am not sure about the exact specification parameter you would need. Also I could not find the PMP20899 you have referenced above.

    Even if the LM5020 has been design a while ago it is still in full production and good to be used in new designs.

    For availability you may check with the customer support center (Customer support center – Homepage - Customer Support (ti.com)) or your distributor, as I do not have access to that data.

    For other devices you can also check the 

    LM5022 or the LM5122 - this are similar devices

    For lower output power an asynchronous device might also be OK, then check the LM515x devices.

    Sorry the eval board I meant was PMP20859 "Dual-input redundant PoE PD with smooth transition" reference design, that uses a LM5020 as isolated DC/DC.

    Not sure the LM5122 is any good, it is a boost converter (need 5V out from 30-60V in), not in stock anywhere and WebBench doesn't offer isolated design and Vin max at 65V might be too low.

    The LM5022 is also Vin max of 65V, which is awfully close to PoE max of 57V. The LM5020 is Vin max 100V, plenty of headroom.

    So any alternatives to LM5020 ?

    HI Ian,

    in our current roadmap we have 

    Device      Vin max
    LM5001    75V
    LM5002    75V
    LM5020    100V

    But the LM500x has internal Switch and therefore limited with the switching current, this would not be high enough for your requirements.

    So, the LM5020 would be the best fit - can you please check with Customer Support Center with solving the availability question:
