Hi

I am designing a 6S1P battery pack using BQ40Z80.

In this i need to use a secondary protector IC  BQ77207.This IC is Secondary protector IC which supports 7s configuration.

Whether This IC can be used with BQ40Z80 IC and The output can be connected to the FUSE drive N channel FET

    Hi Max,

    You should be able to use the BQ77207 as a secondary protector with the BQ40z80.  I am a bit confused by exactly how you want the connection for the N-MOS FUSE drive configured based on the question wording, but you should be able to use either the BQ77207 or the BQ40z80 to blow the FUSE.

    Section 5.2 in the BQ40z80 EVMUG even provides a schematic showing how the gauge is used with another protector--the BQ7718-- for FUSE and FET control.  This may help you understand how OR logic is used, allowing either the protector or gauge to control the FUSE.  Here is the link: bq40z80EVM Li-Ion Battery Pack Manager (ti.com).
