My customer is using the S-8209A in a 14 cell LI-ion battery charging module.

If there is a TI protection device for 1CELL with a similar function, please recommend it.

    Hi JH, 

    The device that comes to mind here is the BQ2920 w/ cell balancing and can be stacked via external FET drive. Might this work for you?

    BQ2920x are battery protectors for 2CELL Li-ion batteries.

    The customer requested a product recommendation for 1 CELL. Are there any products for 1 CELL?

    Hello JH,

    We do not have any device that meets the exact function that you require for a single cell, as our single cell protectors do not have a cell balancing option.

    If you are looking for a device that can do cell balancing and protections for the 14s application of your customer, you can look into the BQ77915, which can be stacked to meet the 14s requirements. This IC also provides OV/UV protections, current protections, cell balancing and other features. You can read about it in the datasheet found in its product page.

    Another device that can be used is the BQ76952, which supports up-to 16s and has a plethora of features which you can read about in its datasheet found in its product page.
