TPS3704-Q1: Issue with output

Genius 13859 points
Part Number: TPS3704-Q1

Hi Experts,

Seeking your assistance on this query:

We are using the standard voltage supervisor (TPS37042A3OFDDFRQ1). The part number indicates that this IC is Open Drain - Active Low. According to the datasheet, the nominal monitored power supply voltages for SENSE1 and SENSE 2 are 3.3V and 1.2V, respectively.

In the circuit of question, VDD is at 3.3V, SENSE1 is connected to 3.3V, and SENSE2 is connected to 1.2V. We are expecting the output to be "HIGH". However, the output is measured to be "LOW" although the sensed voltages are withing their normal operation. We used a few parts and their output remains LOW.

I have attached the schematic. Can you please assist us in this matter?

Thank you.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hi Archie,

Thank you for you question. I will be happy to help. Are you able to provide a scope shot of SENSEX and RESETX?

One thing to note is that the R62 is lower than what we typically recommend for our open-drain devices. 10K would be our typical sweet spot.
