TPS65094: Did the default output of TPS650940 have setting protection

Part Number: TPS65094
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS650861

Hi TI Teams,

Our customer feedback that they tried to change the default output of TPS650940 Buck3 from 1.05V to 0V, but failed. So they are wondering that did the default output of TPS650940 have setting protection and cannot change. Can u help to confirm it?

Thanks,

Kind Regards

  • Hello,

The TPS650940 has its default outputs preprogrammed into its one time programmable (OTP) memory in production. During operation BUCK3 output voltage can be changed to 0V via I2C write to BUCK3CTRL register, but the value will return to default when input power is cycled.  This device is not designed to have the default output settings changed. For this reason we promote the use of the user programmable version of the device, TPS650861, so the customer can define their own default configuration.

    Best Regards,

    Garrett
