LM76005: How to prevent the voltage from entering the PVIN pin from the SW pin?

Part Number: LM76005

When we use LM76005,Vout connect to battery.

When PVIN disconnect,Will the battery voltage enter the input pin PVIN?

If will, how to solve this problem?

When Vout connect to battery,PVIN no connect, we need PVIN keep low. How to achieve this application?

Our applied current is about 3Amps to 4Amps. 32V input and 25.2V output.

  • Hi Yan,

Most switching buck converters use a MOSFETs from VIN to SW node.

This MOSFET will have a body diode that allows current if SW>VIN.

Note the ABSMAX of SW pin is VIN+0.3V.

If you expect SW to be high and VIN to be low, then you need to use a diode on VIN to prevent negative current.

A low-forward drop will have best efficiency.

    Hope this helps,
