BQ2961: Disable BQ296100 REG

Hello:

We are using BQ296100 as secondary protection in a 4S2P battery design, and we don't need the REG output. Just want to confirm, the REG pin should connect to GND with 30kohms (typical)?

I didn't find the detailed description in the spec about how to disable the REG (and REG_EN), but the numbers could be found in Characteristics section.

Hi Chen,

No, you do not need to connect a 30k resistor to this pin - this is showing the internal pull-down resistance when it is disabled. You can use the REG_EN pin to disable the output.

Hello Chen,

Unfortunately it seems that none of the released BQ296x devices have the REG_EN pin. So there would be no way to disable the REG output with the currently released devices.
