UCC27517: PSPICE model

Hi team,

Customer is skeptical of justification that PSPICE of this device, because the output structure is diffrent with Figure23 in datasheet.

Datasheet is  Pch / Nch parallel opeation however, PSPICE model is only driven by Pch. Can we realize realistic simuation with existing PSPICE?

  • Hi NY,

It is true that the PSpice model is limited in that way. It depends on how the customer is using the driver. If they use it to do gate drive, there will be very little difference between the model and reality. Maybe if they are driving an IGBT or SiC with a high miller plateau, or If they are doing something that stresses the PMOS more, like driving DC loads, then the model will not be very accurate.

It may be possible to adjust the behavior closer to the parallel operation by making a voltage-controlled resistor on the output. A CCVS may also work.

    Thanks,

    Alex M.
