How to power 70 laser diodes without one laser failure causing all to stop emitting light

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5868T, LP5868

I am trying to design a power supply arrangement for 70 laser diodes. I need to regulate the current to each one not to exceed the operating current, and also to configure delivery of power to the array of 70 laser diodes so that if one laser diode fails, all of the other laser diodes do not turn off.

So, hooking 70 laser diodes in series to a constant current supply does not appear to be an option.

The 70 laser diodes will be all the same wavelength and power output. A typical example would be a WaveSpectrum Laser, Inc. WLSD-650-150m-1 which has an operating voltage of 2.2V (max 3V) and an operating current of 230mA (with a threshold current of 70mA typical).

The voltage source will be mains 120/240 feed into any necessary voltage regulator + AC to DC converter

I welcome your input. Thanks.
