Hi TI Teams,

Our new project using BQ78350-R1 as the fuel gauge for 11-cell LiFePO4 battery, can u help to check the schematic?

Hi Lumina,

The BQ76952 is not compatible with the BQ78350-R1. The BQ78350-R1 can only be used with the BQ769x0 family (BQ76920, BQ76930, BQ76940).

If you want to use the BQ78350-R1, then you should use the BQ76930 for a 10S solution. Here is a good reference design for this type of solution: https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00792

If you want to use the BQ76952 and gauging is needed, then I recommend the BQ34Z100-G1. The BQ34Z100-G1 is a top-of-stack gauge so it can be used with any battery monitor. A microcontroller is needed to communicate to both the BQ76952 (or you can use BQ76942 since this is a 10 cell battery) and with the BQ769x2. This reference design shows how a battery monitor and BQ34Z100-G1 can be used together: TIDA-010030.
