UCD3138ACCEVM149: Firmware modification to get 48V in the output of UCD3138ALLCEVM150

Part Number: UCD3138ACCEVM149
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD3138ALLCEVM150

Hello all,

I am using UCD3138ACCEVM149 with UCD3138ALLCEVM150.

The original UCD3138ALLCEVM150 has 12V as Vout. I will do some changes on the hardware to has 48V as Vout instead of 12V.

At the same time, I konw that I need to change some parameters of the firmware of UCD3138ACCEVM149 using CCS to get my propose. Could you guide me to know which firmware paramaters I should to modify by sure?

Thank you.

  • Hello,

Most likely you need to modify the hardware, like divider resistor, MOS, transformer etc. You can ues the same reference voltage in firmware, but modify the divider resistor.

  • Hello,

Are you talking about the R20-R21 divider resistor (see picture)? Should I change another divider resistor?

Let me see if I understood correctly. Can I use the same firmware (without modifications) if I change only the hardware? What about the parameters VOUT or VOUT_OVP for example?

    Thank you

  • Hello,

Yes, one option is to use the same firmware without modification, but to change the hardware-----the idea is to keep the voltage sensed by UCD pins to be the same as before. Say, it uses EAP0 for voltage sensing, and it's 1V on the EAP0 pin for the 12V output case, you can keep the EAP0 pin to be 1V as before, but change the divider resistor to get a 1V for the 48V output case. Do the same thing for the other pins(like current sensing, ADxx for voltage/current/temp monitoring/protection, etc.)

R20 and R21 are jsut for voltage sensing, you shall find out all the others that are sensed by UCD, and change the related hardware.

    Best Regards,
