We have designed TPS61165DBV as a backlight driver for our LCD module. You can see the schematic below,
My understanding is R12 limits the current to the LED. The flexible one-wire digital and PWM is used for controlling the brightness.
We have chosen R12 as 22 Ohm. In some of the units we noticed the backlight is brighter than others. We found out when we measure the R12 inside some of the unit is 22 Ohm while the others varies like 16 Ohm. The one that is measured as 16 Ohm when we remove the resistor and measure it separately it is 22 Ohm. But this difference of resistance inside the unit causes brighter display. Any comment why some resistor measured as 22 Ohm and some others as 16 Ohm please?
