hello. This time, I purchased the USB Interface Adapter 2006 version.
I installed BatteryManagementStudio-1.3.101_Build1-windows-installer to read data to bq25890 EVM. Afterwards, I ran Battery Management Studio and clicked charger - charger_1_00_bq25890_895.bqz to run it.
And when I clicked Field View,

Error Code:2
Msg : Not able ti find a free communications adapter.


I've also installed the version below, BatteryManagementStudio, and unplugged the adapter cable and plugged it back in, but the same error continues.

In addition to this, I also bought a BQ24195EVM that can read registers with other programs. This program was able to read registers. That said, it recognized the adapter just fine. From this I think BatteryManagementStudio is not recognizing the adapter. Please tell me how to solve it.

    Hi Yongseok,

    As a quick check, can you try closing Battery Management Studios before you connect the adapter to your computer and then to the EVM. Once the adapter is connected and found by your computer, launch Battery Management Studios and see if the adapter is recognized. Sometimes the adapter will not be recognized if the software is launched before the adapter is connected.

    As you said, before running Battery Management Studio, I connected the adapter to the computer without connecting it to the EVM. However, it still did not recognize it, and even after closing the battery management studio and turning it on again, it does not recognize it. Is there any other workaround? It looks like a software problem to me. Other BQ2419x EVM test programs provided by your company recognize the adapter.

    Hi Yongseok,

    After checking into the software I confirmed that Battery Management Studios GUI only accepts communication from our EV2400.

    See the BQ25890EVM User's Guide for more information about using the EV2400 with the EVM board.

    OMG! I recently bought bq24195_EVM, and I thought it was compatible with HPA172 (USB Interface Adapter) there. It makes no sense that only the EV2400 is used, even though it is a product of the same company...
    Is there no terminal program that can input individual commands through HPA172? A program that can read and write I2C addresses, registers, and data. It's a product of the same company, but it's really shocking that it's not compatible. I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me how to use the bq25890 through the HPA172.

    Hi Yongseok,

    The Battery Management Studio software interface we supply to be used with the EVM does not interface with the HPA172. At this time, we are not supplying an alternative GUI interface for the BQ25890EVM.

    The EV2300 / EV2400 requirement is listed on the main product page and in the BQ25890EVM User's Guide.
