TPS62903: vs TPS62902 diffrences

I needed to replace the TPS62902 in my design with a TPS62903 due to availability. To help me in judging the required testing, could you tell me what changes inside? Is it just a different inductor, or different silicon too, or more?

Hi Gavin,

The main difference in the TPS62902 is that the switch current limits are lowered since it is a 2A device instead of 3A. Other than this the device will operate identical to TPS62903.

Thank you Joseph. If it's only the current limit that is changed, then I won't do so much testing as the loop dynamics should be identical, right?

Hi Gavin,

Yes, the loop dynamics will be identical for the same operating conditions since the control loop in the device is the same.
