Hi team and Don,

I am trying to design one UCC5390 gate driver to drive two parallel SiC Mosfet. Both are 100A switches.

I saw in one forum that you recommend UCC5390 split output type to drive two parallel switches because of its high current handling capability.

Could you see my design and give me some feedback.

The gate driver output voltage is :Positive +15V and negative -5V. Therefore my plan is to use -5V zener diode for negative voltage.

VCC1 input voltage is 12V

Welcome to e2e, and thanks for your question.

I noticed you have 12V on the VCC1 pin. Note the logic thresholds (as mentioned in the post you referenced) as a percentage of the VCC1 supply voltages. For the negative bias configuration, please review Figure 10-2. Negative Bias with Zener Diode on Iso-Bias Power Supply Output in the UCC21520 datasheet.

And, I would recommend you use UCC5390EC which offers UVLO with respect to IGBT emitter. Your schematic indicates that part number, but your pin-out isn't for that part number...

The key to successfully driving parallel SiC FETs is to isolate each gate from the other with a few ohms of gate resistance. Otherwise, parasitic oscillations can easily break out and destroy your FETs.
