Good day. Can you confirm if a 12 cell battery with a max cell voltage of 3V/cell can be used with BQ79612 and a supply voltage VBat >= 20V? Please see full inquiry below:
The customer wants to monitor some Supercaps with the BQ79612. Therefore they need an external power supply for the BQ79612 to measure the voltage range between 0V to 3V.
For this reason, They want to calculate the Bat voltage for the separate power source
VBat >= (0.5 * highest VC voltage) + 2
Can they use 12 cells with the max cell voltage of 3.0V/cell and consequently work with the BQ79612 and a supply voltage VBat >= 20V? or is the separate power source only possible for lithium-Ion cells with 4.2V/cell?
