Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ79606A-Q1
Hi,
I am using the evaluation module for BQ79606A-Q1 and I have noticed that when I apply 24V to the VSTACK and GND pins of the evaluation module the power supply switches to the maximum 100mA and 5.3V and the chip gets fried. I need assistance in determining what the problem is in order to continue working and to prevent this from happening again. 30 minutes prior to this occurring, the system was working perfectly; after, I disconnected the devboard that supplies to J8 and then the power supply positive terminal connection using the on/off button and then physically too. When I returned the aforementioned issue was present and it persists.
Note that I have all 6 resistors from the resistor ladders connected per SW2 and that they all measure 1kohm. I could not find any short circuits from VSTACK to any of the GND connections across the board when testing for continuity.
What could be the problem? I believe it may have to do with creating open circuits on all pins of J8 and then disconnecting the power supply, instead of vice versa. If so, why?
