Hi All,
I have a question about the TPS25210L.
I would like to latch off when overcurrent or limit current occurs.
Is it possible with an additional peripheral circuit?
If possible, please let me know the reference circuit.

Ishiwata

Hi Ishiwata,
Do you mean you want circuit break response instead of current limiting?
One way is that comparing ILIM pin voltage with a comparator. During current limit it will be around 0.6V. When voltage crosses this threshold that means overcurrent is there .
Can customer use TPS259474L? It is a circuit breaker device.

Hi Kunal,
Thank you for your reply.
I also proposed the TPS259474L, which is capable of circuit breaker.
In the case of the circuit you mentioned, it is possible to cut off the current temporarily, but it is not possible to latch off.
is my understanding correct?
Is overcurrent latch-off by adding a peripheral circuit not recommended from a protection point of view?
Thank you for your support.

Hi Ishiwata,
Customer can go for additional circuit unless it is violating device pins recommended operating conditions.
In circuit I proposed yes it will enable device again because ILIM pin will go low on current being zero. I am thinking if we can derive supply voltage for opamp from VOUT of tps25210 that way when VOUT goes zero(when we disable device on overcurrent ) , opamp output should go zero.
