TLV702: use TLV702 instead of TLV702-Q1?

Part Number: TLV702
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , LSF0108

Hi Team!

I would like to ask how the TLV702 differs from the TLV702-Q1 ? Can I use TLV702 instead of TLV702-Q1 on automotive projects? What is the risk of using this? The customer's needs are: 5V to 3.3V, 100mA.

Is this question relevant to the application? Is there a risk if the LDO is supplying power to the Level Shifting device?

  • Hi Hale,

These devices use the same die. The difference is usually in the test conditions during final test, which would normally be tighter for the auto-qualified device. The auto-qualified device is also guaranteed to meet the AEC-Q100 qualification specs, while the non-auto device is not. So to answer your question, your customer probably cannot use a non-auto-qualified device for their project.

I don't understand your question. What kind of level shifting device are you referring to? Is the only requirements for their LDO the ones you listed (5V to 3.3V, 100mA)?

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick!

Why do auto-customer's project need to meet the AEC-Q100 qualification specs? Except the AEC-Q100 qualification specs, I still noticed that there are other specs differences between TLV702 and TLV702-Q1. Are they important to distinguish TLV702 and TLV702-Q1. I still don't understand what specific difference this AEC-Q100 qualification makes for TLV702-Q1. And the LDO is used to supply power to LSF0108.

  • Hi Hale,

This is not a requirement on our end, it is a requirement on their end. I don't have a great answer to why they need the AEC-Q100 qualification.

I don't see any reason that there would be a risk with using this device to power the level shifter, excluding the AEC-Q100 qualification.

    Regards,

    Nick
