TPS23882: sifos test fail

Hi Sir,

currently customer use Sifos to test TPS23882 IEEE802.3 at/at compliance,

there is a message of class tome fail, we compared the datasheet of TPS23882 and TPS2388 , saw the following time difference,

we want to know whether the class time can be optimize from the software setting, or this problem a limitation of the TPS23882 itself?

What SRAM version did the customer used when running the Sifos test?

Hi Tommy,

I would recommend customer to use latest SRAM v07 for testing as it includes bug fixes and patches that v03 or v00 (no SRAM, standalone PSE) might not have (see highlighted section below).

Hi Raymond,

regarding the SRAM code of TPS23882, how to load in to TPS23882? customer currently refer to the steps at https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slvae12c/slvae12c.pdf?ts=1675596527983

but we don't know which file is the SRAM code? which one is the parity code?

Hi Tommy,

You can find version 07 of the SRAM from mySecure under IC Design Resources (should be a .exe file). Once downloaded, run the application and by default it should save a folder called "TPS23881_2_SRAM_CODE_v07" under Program Files -> Texas Instruments. You should then be able to open the folder to find .bin and .bits file for the SRAM and PARITY.

Hi Tommy,

The Classification duration is not programmable, the only timing configuration that can be set/configure/programmed are TLIM, TSTART, TOVLD, and TMPDO. You can find more information regarding these time under register 0x16 (page 61 of the datasheet):

The duration range for tLCE shows the possible timing for the 1st finger classification (can range from 95ms to 105ms) on our PSEs (TPS23881, TPS23882(B), TPS23861, etc.). This duration requirement is also mentioned in the EA PoE 802.3bt standards (for bt PSEs, the long first class event ranges from 85ms to 105ms). Our PSEs are designed to meet this criteria:
