UCC28951-Q1: Gate drive Transformer 56P3362 alternative

Part Number: UCC28951-Q1

I have query regarding alternative to 56PR3362.

Please suggest an alternative or guide from which suppliers I can this part.
I am not able to find an alternative having insulation as well as low leakage inductance.

Also, as per other threads, it is found that its customized as per original part no. AF4779_032807

I
also want to know why in customized part input inductance is 1.3 mH then actual part number which is 0.9 mH.

  • Hello,

I have received your inquiry and will get back to you shortly.

  • Hello,

I checked the data sheet for this device and it is 1.3 mH.  The primary magnetizing inductance should measure 1.3 mH.

Did you measure the transformers primary inductance out of circuit?   It could measure something different in circuit.

I would double check the transformer primary inductance out of circuit.

You are correct that the 56PR3362 is a custom transformer and not a standard off the shelf transformer.

So there will not an alternative transformer that can replace it.  The other option is to give the transformer specifications to a magnetic manufacture to see if they can build a custom transformer for you.

The follow link will bring you to an application note that describes how to design a FSFB using the UCC28951-Q1.  There is a section on calculating the transformers turns ratio, peak currents and RMS currents.  Transformer designer can use this information to help in the actual magnetic design.  The magnetic designer may find this information useful when it comes to designing a custom transformer.
