LMR16020: LMR16020 does not work on 24VAC after rectification

Hello,

We designed power supply for C-wire system using LMR16020PDDA. now issue is when we supply it with 24VAC. It only provides up to around 200mA at 3V3 out. if we increase the load current then voltage collapse also same effect on Feedback pin(reduce to 0.53V).

Now if we apply DC supply we can draw up to full load current.

Hello

I think you will need some bulk input capacitance to provide a proper input voltage to the

regulator. You will probably need at least 470uF of capacitance to provide a DC input

to the regulator from your rectified AC source.

Hi Frank,

Thank you for your quickest response and help. We tested it with 80uF bulk input cap and output improved a lot.
