I am using DCP010515DB to generate 15V dual rails from 5V rail. My question is regarding the efficiency calculations. In the datasheet a no load current is specified as 42mA. For say 50% load, the efficiency from efficiency plot is about 80%. While calculating the input power, for 50% load, should I calculate Pin = Pout/0.8 or should I need to add the loss component from the no load current (42mA) specified in datasheet. If I add the 42mA loss component I am getting the effective efficiency as 70%.
Load | 50 | % |
Iout (ip+in) | 33 | mA |
Vout_P | 15.5 | V |
Inoload | 42 | mA |
Efficiency | 82 | % |
Pout | 511.5 | mW |
Pin_efficiency | 623.7805 | mW |
Pnoloadloss | 210 | mW |
Iin | 124.7561 | mA |
Iin_load | 102.3 | mA |
Iin_diff | 22.4561 | mA |
Pin_load | 511.5 | mW |
Pin_noload | 210 | mW |
Pin_total | 721.5 | mW |
efficiency | 70.89397 | % |
