LMG1210: LMG1210 - Simulation in LTSpice

Part Number: LMG1210
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMG1205

Dear Sir or Madam,

i have got the simulation model from your internet side and try to import the model into LTspice. Unfortunately the simulation model doesn't match the pinout from the data sheet.

In the simulation model are more pins like the data sheet shown.

Some of the pins are also named differently as in the data sheet.

My question are:

- which are the pins i have to use in the simulation program (LTspice)?

- Can i just let the unused pins open in the simulation?

- In the simulation model i found a VCC pin. I think the pin is standing for VDD (data sheet), is it right?

Is it maybe possible to get from you (TI) the simulation model in LTSpice format?

Please let me known if you need more information (like screenshot).

Kind regards

  • Hi together,

i have analyzed the problem and i find out there must be some wrong in the simulation model.

Standard simulation model include usualy a model parameters, but the simulation model from LMG1210 include only a broken code i think (see below).

Copy of a part of the code from the simulations model from LMG1210 (lmg1210.lib):

    .SUBCKT LMG1210 HB HO PWM_LI HS_0 HS_1 HS_2 HS_3 HS_DAP LS_DAP VIN LO DHL DLH  VCC VSS_0 VSS_1 EN_HI NC_0 NC_1 NC_2 BST

    ...

Usually the simulations models looks like:

.subckt LMG1205 HI LI HB HOH HOL HS_0 HS_1 VDD_0 VDD_1  LOH LOL VSS

    RVdd1 VDD VDD_1 1m
    RVdd0 VDD VDD_0 1m
    RHSS0 HS HS_0 1m
    RHSS1 HS HS_1 1m

    ...

We would need a working simulation model for LMG1210 as soon as possible.

I hope to hear from you soon.

    Best Regards

  • Hello Michal,

There may be difficulties when uploading PSpice models into LTSpice. There may be slight changes you need to make to the model in order to make it work. Also, Analog Devices owns LTSPice and TI is not allowed to support LTSpice because of the LTSpice EULA. This E2E thread goes into more detail: https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-group/sim-hw-system-design/f/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-forum/546520/ltspice-iv

As for the working simulation model, this user presumably has a working simulation file. Please be careful with files off the internet though.

  • Hello Galloway,

i have opened the .lib file after the download with text editor. Usually a .lib file use parameters and formulas to describe the internal functions of the model.

I find in the .lib file after the .SUBCKT only a broken code (about 220 rows with "eee8c5c7a2bc4b01f045f30367866".

Could you maybe check the model again please.

  • Hello Michal,

Are you using the encrypted version of the driver? Make sure you are using the unencrypted version of the LMG1210 driver if you want to load the file into LTSpice.
