NiMH pack using a bq27010 as a gas gauge?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27010, BQ26220

Hello

Has anyone used a bq27010 as a gas gauge for a NiMH battery pack?

We were going to use a bq26220 as a monitor for a 6cell NiMH battery pack.  dMax suggested we use a bq27010 as the monitor.

We looked at the 27010 a bit more and we think it can be used as a gas gauge for NiMH.    if the self-discharge value is set to "1", the self-discharge rate will be calculated as 1/62.  That's pretty close to the self-discharge rate for NiMH.

Does this make sense or is there something else I'm missing?..

thanks
