TPS543820: TPS543820RPYR

Part Number: TPS543820

PGND and AGND pins shorted with single ground .

is that ok , will it cause any power issues ?

  • Hi Rajashekar,

Separate AGND and PGND is preferred. PGND should be used for all power stage related ground. AGND should be used for sensing and control network ground. You can connect AGND and PGND through a net tie as shown in figure 8-1 of the datasheet https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps543820.pdf#page=17.

    Our layout guideline:

    - Use multiple vias in the AGND island to connect it back to internal PGND layers. Do not place these vias between the BP5 capacitor and the AGND pin. These vias will conduct switching currents between the BP5 capacitor and PGND. Placing the vias near the AGND pin can add noise to the FB divider.

    Regards,

    Eileen
