TPS54160: Power good pin - sinking capability

Part Number: TPS54160

Dear TI,

according to datasheet of TPS54160, absolute maximal current via PWRGD (power good) pin is 10 mA.

Datasheet section 8.3.17 Power Good (PWRGD Pin) describes:
The PWRGD is in a defined state once the VIN input voltage is greater than 1.5V but with reduced current sinking capability. The PWRGD will achieve full current sinking capability as VIN input voltage approaches 3V.

How much is the sinking capability reduced at VIN = 1,5 V? What would be maximal recommended current?

Thank you.

  • Hello

We have not tested the limits of sink capability at Vin<3V so we can not give you an ensured value.

The best way to determine if the PGOOD feature will work for you at reduced input voltage is to test this in your application.

This can be done with the EVM for this device.

    Thanks
