LM25143: Shunt Current Sensing Implementation (data sheet versus LM5143Q1-EVM-2100 schematic)

Part Number: LM25143

Hi, I have a question about the LM25143 Current Sensing implementation on the data sheet versus the example design given in LM5143Q1-EVM-2100 schematic.

In the EVM schematic, the current sense lines have an extra resistor and capacitor (R12, C44) on the line going to pin CS1. Is this something I would want to use

in my implementation with the LM25143 circuit? The LM25143 data sheet does not show these and does not discuss them. If so, what do they do and how do I

calculate the appropriate values?

   thanks,  Tom

  • Hi Tom

That's the RC filter to attenuate the high frequency noise coupling to CS-VOUT traces on the board. 50ohm + 33pF combination is good for most applications.  Also, a noise coupling though the air can be minimized by placing the C44 close to the CS-VOUT pins.
