TPSM63606: Remote Sense on Feedback

Part Number: TPSM63606

Hello,

In reading through the feedback on the TPSM63606, it states you can connect to VOUT at the desired point of regulation.  I was planning on routing the feedback resistors and cap near the device, but then was going to route a differential trace on VOUT/GND closer to the load.  Do you see any concerns with this approach?

I will have some local caps to generate a small plane near the device but my main load is a couple of inches away and wanted to provide better regulation at this point.  This part doesn't feature a true remote sense so I wanted to ask.

  • Hi Jason,

You can run a trace from the upper feedback resistor to sense VOUT at the point of load. However, the GND reference is AGND, which is effectively at the DAP of the module. Typically the GND plane drop is minimal and it's more important to sense VOUT.

    Regards,

    Tim
