Hello Given,

Please connect BATP to VOUT and BATN to GND in this scheme. When not using BAT_OVP and BAT_OVP_ALM the customer will need to use some other form of Battery Overvoltage Protection.

However, I would just recommend using the integrated BAT_OVP and BAT_OVP_ALM with the connected BATP and BATN as described in the datasheet as this will reduce further system implementation of external Battery Overvoltage Protection.

Thanks for your reply.

Due to layout limitation and customer will use Gauge to protect battery, customer do not want to use BATP and BATN. Then how to connect them? short them and to GND? Thanks.

Hello Given,

Please see my previous post on how to connect them. BATP goes to VOUT and BATN goes to GND. However, please ensure the robustness of the Battery Overvoltage Protection you use instead.
