TPS543820: Min. Distance between Pins

Part Number: TPS543820

Hello,

I've heard that the Telcordia standards require a distance between pins to be 0.127 mm or wider. I guess the "distance between pins" here means the closest edges of the neighboring pins. Here I'd like to ask whether TPS543820's VQFN-HR package satisfies this requirement or not.

The distance can be calculated from the package drawing in the data sheet. However, I'm not certain about the Min. distance because the tolerance of the pin pitch is not specified. I show an example in the picture here.

Could you help me calculate the Min. distance between the pin edges of the VQFN-HR package?

Best regards,
Shinichi Yokota

  • Hello Shinichi,

The tolerance of the pin pitch is much lower than the other tolerances and is almost negligible.
That is the reason it is not provided in the drawing.
The calculated worst case scenario of 0.2 mm is what you can count on as minimum distance between the pins and is far from the desired minimum of 0.127mm.

    Hope this makes sense.
