BQ2970: COUT does not go high when VOCHG is detected

Hi,

Our customer evaluating bq29707 with bq24040 on their test board.

Now they are trying to charge deplated battery then they are facing the anomary behabior that COUT does not go high when VOCHG (=1.7V) is detected. They tried several deplated battery and then sometimes is OK (COUT goes high) and sometimes is NG (COUT does not go high). So can you give your opinion why this anomary behavior is happened as attached?

Hello Satoshi,

If the battery voltage is slightly higher than 1.7-V, say 1.8-V. Does COUT still fail to go high?

Are they following all conditions for V0CHG? As described from the following FAQ: [FAQ] BQ2980: Protector Behavior for Severely Depleted Battery (0V Charging) - Power management forum - Power management - TI E2E support forums?

Hi Luis,

I requested the customer to check the battery voltage, then the battery voltage was less then V0INH. So it means that the condition was not met to be in 0V region. They clearly understand that why COUT doe not go high.
