About Fly-Buck Power Supply for Industrial Power Question

Dear TIer,

I am saw the following TIDS are all for power device use, so , Could you help us to advice how to choose the suitable circuit for separate positive / negative voltage?

  • Hi,

You did an excellent job of summarizing the trade-offs for the two approaches.  Type 1 is better performance, but requires extra windings on the transformer.

    - If you require better regulation and lower loss, try to use Type 1.  However, if you require several secondary windings on the transformer it might become difficult to find a bobbin with enough pins. This might force you to use Type 2.

    - If you can tolerate the regulation and slightly higher loss, Type 2 would simplify the transformer design.

    regards,

    Brian
