BQ27742-G1: BQ27742-G1 SOC jump during plus discharge

Part Number: BQ27742-G1

Hi

The customer design with BQ27742-G1, The golden file is successful.

when use 0.1C for discharge, and SOC also decreases to 0% smoothly. But when use smaller current to discharge in pulse load mode, the problem as below:

1. SOC drop from 5% to 0%

2. RSOC to 0% early to 3V (set to 2.8 V)

3. It is normal in the first cycle, and often occurs in the second cycle

Attached the gg file.

Default is golden setting gg file.

Sample C the jump occur gg file.

S default and Sample C gg(20230206).gg.csv

Plus discharge as below:

Why the SOC will drop in plus discharge mode?

How to improve it

Thanks

  • Your Dsg Relax Time setting is extremely high. 1800s. The gauge will stay in discharge state for 1800s (30 minutes), even if the load drops below 3mA. This may skew Avg I/P Last Run and cause incorrect load prediction, leading to SOC jumps.

While there may be reasons to set Dsg Relax Time that high, it's likely related to these SOC jumps.
