Hi team!
I see TPS7A54 parallel method on the link( https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management---internal/f/power-management---internal-forum/1052479/tps7a54-q1-is-it-possible-to-parallel-ldo?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=TPS7A54%2520parallel#). I want to ask if we have other LDO which can provide 5.4A and 0.8V output. And which solution is recommended?
Hi Hale,
We have written 2 white papers and 1 software tool on paralleling LDO's using ballast resistors. We are in the process of adding more LDO's to the software tool, and we wish to update this year for the TPS7A52/3/4. You can easily parallel the TPS7A57 to achieve 5.4A. We have also released an order-able reference design which parallels 3x TPS7A57 to achieve 13.5A at 0.8V. See the links below. To get to a solution the fastest, go straight to the MS Excel tool and enter your system requirements (temperature, Vin, Vout, load current = 5.4A, etc) and select the TPS7A57 from the drop down selection. The tool will tell you the optimum value of ballast resistance to use and how many LDOs you need to parallel to meet your system needs. The total time to use this tool is less than 1 minute if you already know your system requirements.
If you need any further guidance please reply back and let me know.
