TPSI2140-Q1: How to run Monte Carlo/Worst Case analysis with IC tolerance?

Part Number: TPSI2140-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-010232, , AMC3330

Hi TI,

I would like to know design tolerance of TIDA-010232 reference design.

I only know how to run a worst case with tolerance of resistor.

Is IC model set with typical or ideal value?

How can I get worst case result with tolerance of resistor and TPSI2140-Q1?

  • Hi Sky,

You can see the worst case RDSON parametrics for the TPSI2140-Q1 in the datasheet to give you an idea of the range you can expect to see at different temperatures (similar to how you would run the analysis with a resistor). However, the TPSI2140-Q1 resistance is going to be extremely small comparatively to the rest of the resistances in this design, hence why you typically do not see it accounted for in some of the calculations in the design guide.

Also, as I mentioned, the TIDA-010232 has an accompanying design guide that is helpful reviewing a lot of the design tolerances and calculations for this reference design that you can use to better understand what to expect.

Let me know if that is clear.

    Thanks!

    Bryan

  • Hi Bryan,

Customer ask us to SPICE to do WCCA (worst case) report by simulation.

I would like to know how to get the MAX/MIN VinADC value including OPA tolerance by simulation instead of calculation.

Another question, Is IC model set parameters with typical value?

Assuming these are referring to AMC3330, these questions should be directed to the amplifiers E2E forum here - we support solid state relays (TPSI2140-Q1).

In the meantime, I am looking into error calculations, will try to provide an update by Monday (2/20).

    Best regards,
