1. 10uF is the minimum value and can be increased without any limit for better input voltage filtering. Changing to 20uF should be ok. But it should be low ESR ceramic capacitor.

2. It is abnormal. Please confirm that 20uF cap is ceramic cap and close to TPS62050 Vin /GND pin. You may send us the schematic and PCB layout.

The schematic and layout looked good to me. Do you mean CE3 changed to 22uF ceramic cap then the input current will increase? If yes, it doesn't make sense. Are 10uF and 22uF same ceramic cap with same voltage derating? Make sure 22uF ceramic cap with good quality.

Hi Chye,

I suspect this was caused by input capacitor's quality. Did all 4 above X5R caps have same issue? Did you try to change different vendors? Or change to X6S/X7R material ceramic caps? Is 10uF ceramic cap X7R/X6S or same X5R?  I would recommend use 25V, X6S or X7R, 22uF ceramic cap as input cap.
