Hi team,

     The customer is evaluating the BQ25895 and BQ25892. But BQ25985EVM is temporarily out of stock on TI sample. So could you please confirm whether customer could use BQ25895 on BQ25892EVM to test? Can you tell me what changes need to be made on the BQ25982EVM？

    Hi Nan, 

    For clarity these ICs are not pin to pin compatible. The BQ25895 has D+/D- pins for input detection, whereas the BQ25892 uses a single PSEL pin for input type selection.

    Although it should be fine to test the BQ25895 on the BQ25892EVM because the jumpers for the D+/D- pins are populated on the PCB. Also of note, if the customer plans to test the OTG feature on the BQ25895 they will need to add capacitance to the PMID path on the BQ25892EVM as it only has a 10 uF capacitor and at least 40 uF is recommended for OTG use.
