Hi Tony,
There's no hidden danger if you do not use a resistor for the PWR_EN pin. If a resistor is necessary to implement your specific pull-up system then you may include one, but it is not a requirement for the PWR_EN pin itself.
Keep in mind that the system will depend on the stability of your pull-up source. You do not want PWR_EN dropping below 1.2V during normal operation of the PMIC so the circuit design should be such that PWR_EN pull-up is not subjected to sudden voltage drops.
