Part Number: TPS2505
Hello,
Is it possible to use TPS2505B1RGWR USB1(500mA) and USB2(500mA) outputs in parallel in order to achieve USB3.0 current levels(900mA)?
Best Regards,
Mustafa

Hi Mustafa,
Thanks for reaching out!
TPS2505 has a adjustable independent USB current limit foe each single USB port, so I would recommend you to use 900mA current limit directly by one USB port to achieve USB3.0 current levels(900mA).

Hi Shuai,
It is not clear from the datasheet that if both of the USB output current limits can be set as 900mA. Is it possible?
In Figure 10 of datasheet, there is a graph where it is noted that secondary USB switch is disabled. I wonder if TPS2505 can support 900mA output current simultaneously from USB1 and USB2 outputs?
Best Regards,
Mustafa
Hi Mustafa,
Sorry to lost your questions, Shuai is on vacation now, I will reply to you tomorrow, thank you.
Best Regards,
Kuno
Hi Mustafa,
Not both, only one port is enough. Just like Shuai said, please use only one port, and set the current limit to 900mA, and the TPS2505 can support 900mA output simultaneously from only USB1 or USB2, but don't exceed the 1.1A in total.

Best Regards,
Kuno
