BQ25601D: modify the JEITA_ISET temperture range from 0-10 to 0-15℃

Part Number: BQ25601D

Hi team,

We can see in datasheet,  the BQ25601DRTWR Jeita Cool temperature is set to 0-10deg and the customer has requested to change to 0-15deg, do we have some hidden register to modify via register or have any other ideas to modify the JEITA_ISET temperture range from 0-10 to 0-15℃?

Thanks

BR

Lillian

  • Hi Lillian,

Unfortunately there is no way to modify the JEITA temperature range via register settings on the BQ25601D. To modify the temperature range the customer will need to change the values of the TS pin resistor network (RT1 and RT2), but be aware this will affect the full JEITA temperature profile, not just the JEITA cool range T1-T2 (default 0C-10C).

Equations 1 and 2 on page 24 of the BQ25601D datasheet describe how to calculate RT1 and RT2.

For example, one option to set the cool threshold (T2) to 15C is to make RT1 = 5.458 Kohm (approximately) and RT2 = 46.755 Kohm (approximately). With these resistors the full charge range is 5C to 60C instead of 0C to 60C.

    Best Regards,

    Garrett
