BQ40Z50-R1: Can I skip the ”Golden Learning“?

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1

Hi engineer,

Now we use BQ40Z50-R1 to develop a product. The product has low temperature application scenarios, so the development process will include "Golden Learning" and "Resistance Temperature Compensation".The whole process takes about 5 working days, and our current delivery time is relatively short。So that I would like to ask if I can skip "Golden Learning" and directly "Resistance Temperature Compensation", or "Resistance Temperature Compensation" first, then ""Golden Learning“  .

Look forward to your reply!

  • Hello,

"Golden learning" (learning cycle) can only be skipped if Qmax and Ra table has been obtained before. These parameters are needed since they let the gauge know which type of chemistry is being used and this will be the starting point for proper gauging.

If you already have the Qmax value and the Ra table, you can manually input them into the gauge and proceed to the "Resistance Temperature Compensation" which in this case it will be the Rb table.

For tweaking the Rb table, you will need to use the GPCRB tool.
