USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM: Setting of USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM

Part Number: USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987D

My customer is asking some questions about USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM as follows.

[Question1]

They wrote setting for Source Board of USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM with TPS6598x Application Customization Tool (Ver.6.1.3), but when they checked it in Debug Mode:

  • Even if it shows "Disconnected", the register value cannot be read(it shows "Uninitialized").
  • It frequently becomes "Disconnected", especially after accessing Transmit Source Capabilities.

Is there a solution to this problem?

[Question2]

They wrote settings for Source Board of the USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM with the TPS6598x Application Customization Tool (Ver.6.1.3), and it showed "~~~ Successful." However, when they checked it in Debug Mode, the registered values were different. Are there any errors in the following procedure?

  1. Create a project file
  2. Set J202 pin to SRC
  3. Start power supply of USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM
  4. Connect micro-USB cable of  USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM to a PC
  5. Launch the Tool and load the created project file
  6. Select Binary>Flash from current project
  7. Set USB to SPI Adapter to [FTDI], and click [Read Current Region Offsets] button
  8. Click [OK] to start writing
  9. After [~~~Successful] is displayed, disconnect the micro-USB cable and power supply
  10. Power on again
