The chemistry ID is obsolete. There should be a new ID that replaces it. I suggest that you find the ID with the same manufacturer + model and use that new ID

I looked at the selection table again and i saw that there are multiple entries on the battery we use. How do we find which one does not have an obsolete chemistry ID?

What is the model of the battery and chem ID?

Unfortunately, it cannot be disclosed. Yet i tried every entry of the battery and they all present this same error as the first one. Could it be something else?

Also we are getting an error message when trying to import the chemID into the device. The error reads "Communication with the target device cannot be established. Please check the connections. bqEASY cannot operate without an SMBus connection to the device"

Even though we get this error message, the import is checked as successful by the bqEVSW. We also verify that the ID has been imported by sending the Chemistry ID command on the SMBus and reading the value. Is this error just a temporary loss of connection? Could it be related to the initial problem?

In that case you can just try programming each ID that matches the model until you find the one that is not obsolete

I already tried that. They all appear to be obsolete. Could it be something else? Any ideas about the other error message i mention in my previous reply?

The error message "Communication with the target device cannot be established. Please check the connections. bqEASY cannot operate without an SMBus connection to the device" means that there was an error in communication. Even though bqEasy reports successful programming, i would not assume that the programming was successful. It could just be that an error condition was not checked.

What do you suggest we do about both these issues?

Some things to try

1.Update the chemistry database to latest and try again

2. Run bqEVSW/bqEasy as admin

3. Uninstall bqEasy, delete/rename installation folder and reinstall

4. Turn SBS scanning off when programming chemistry

I tried everything you listed in your last reply. I even tried them on multiple different PCs/laptops with different EV2400 devices on different ICs. The error message persist in both issues. Any other ideas maybe?
