TPS2596: Fault signal is not asserted for ILIM pin short to GND condition

Hi,

We have TPS259631 in our design.

We are trying to create and test the fault condition 'ILM Pin Short to GND' as shown in Table 3 of TPS2596 data sheet. But we are not seeing the FLT# signal getting asserted when shorting the ILIM pin to GND. The FLT# signal stays high. The Shut down as per the Protection Response mentioned in Table 3 is also not happening . It would be great help if any inputs can be given in this regard.

Hi Thomas,

For part to trip and FLT to go low on ILIM short there is a threshold of current that needs to flow.

I did not notice this point in data sheet. Thanks for the info, will try it with an electronic load and get back if further clarification required.
