My customer is looking for an Alternate Mode device, they ask for the support of maximum cable length for TUSB1046A-DCI and HD3SS460?

Hi,

Please reference to this link for the USB insertion loss white paper, https://www.usb.org/sites/default/files/USB_3.1_Loss_Budget_Rev_1.0_-_2015-03-02.pdf, specifically Figure 8 for 5Gbps and Figure 9 for 10Gbps data rate.

For 5Gbps, max loss for passive cable is 7dB for Type-C which is typically 2m.

For 10Gbps, max loss for passive cable is 6dB for Type-C which is typically 1m.
