UCC27289: UCC27289 application question

Part Number: UCC27289

Hi team,

Could you tell the internal self-lifting diode implementation? How to realize it? And in typical application why is external diode added?

  • Hello Hale,

We assume you are referring to the internal boot diode. The diode is a P-N junction of a Mos configured as a diode in the internal structure on the IC. The typical application does show the external parallel diode, which is recommended in the case of the average current into HB exceeding 100mA. This can occur if driving high Qg Mosfets with the HO driver at high switching frequency.

    Regards,
