LMG3522EVM-042: Do we need to pair it with LMG342X-BB-EVM to test?

Hi Team,

I had some confusion as I want to start testing TI GaN. Currently I only have LMG3522EVM-042 and was wondering if LMG342X-BB-EVM is compulsory. The product page said the LMG342X-BB-EVM is optional, but i see that the user guide paired LMG3522EVM-042 and LMG342X-BB-EVM.

How do i go about testing if I only have LMG3522EVM-042 ?

Hi Ernest,

The LMG3522EVM-042 is a half bridge daughtercard, the LMG342X-BB-EVM is a buck/boost converter that you can plug the half bridge daughter card into to be able to test in a system setting. Some Ti.com reference designs that feature other topologies can also be used to test the LMG3522EVM-042 daughtercard in a system setting. Some of these reference designs include PMP23069 and TIDA010203 (both totem-pole PFC designs).
